GENETIC VARIABILITY
Anthros vary greatly on the spectrum between animal-like and human-like (mentally and physically), depending on various genetic and environmental factors. Most commonly, anthros are born in bipedal form (walking upright on two legs) with human mentality. Some are born walking on all fours, but with human mentality. Some are born bipedal, but lacking human mentality at all, these tend to be the most dangerous.
Many bipedal anthros can still walk on all fours albeit with a little more difficulty, but it's an ideal posture for hunting and running long distances.
The only real physical constant among all anthros is that their paws have opposable thumbs and varying degrees of elongated fingers giving them human-like hands.
VIEWS & TABOOS
Though culture varies greatly among the anthro species (or races, if you will), there are a few viewpoints and taboos common among most anthros. Usually these taboos have much to do with copying human lifestyles since the 'babbling naked apes' are seen as weak and stupid.
One of the biggest and most controversial taboos is the use of human weapons and tools, which would include knives and bows among other things (guns were destroyed long ago by age or anthros). It's seen as a sign of cowardice or ineptitude in one's natural survival abilities. Many anthros feel so strongly about this subject that they will outright destroy a weapon if they come across it, or berate/shame the user. Some have even been known to murder for such an offense. It is exceedingly rare to find an anthro who openly accepts and/or uses such human weapons. Those that do know it is best kept a secret.
Yet another strong taboo is the wearing of clothes, made especially worse if the clothing has no purpose other than "fashion". Again, it is seen as a sign of stupidity or weakness in character or genetics.Though not as serious an offense as the use of weapons, cloth-wearers are often mocked or looked down upon, or at least given a raised eyebrow from the more polite anthros.
SIZE & APPEARANCE
Click here for the guide to bipedal anthro sizes. Bipedal anthros tend to have denser leg muscles and elongated leg bones for walking upright, which lends to more body weight and height.
Anthros do not grow hair from their heads like humans, but a few have thicker mane-like fur that can appear as short to medium-length hair. Male lions are the exception to this rule, sometimes having manes that mimic longer hair.
AGE & LIFESPAN
They live between 5 and 15 years and tend to age a lot slower than their given species, but still much quicker than human's age. Technically, they could live longer than 15 but it is rare due to the harsh reality of survival.
LANGUAGE
They seem to have a naturally ability to learn new languages with ease and as a result are often multilingual. The two universal languages among them seem to be Russian and English, but many can be found speaking a variety of others.
REPRODUCTION
Females are fertile (ovulate) for around 1 week per month, and if they don't become pregnant they menstruate for a day or two afterwards. For gestation they follow the patterns of their given species. It is impossible to conceive with non-anthro animals or humans.
MISC
Anthros commonly refer to themselves and others by their given species follow by 'people' or a similar noun. For example: wolf anthros would be wolf-people/wolf-men/wolf-women, tiger anthros would be tiger-people/tiger-men/tiger-women, etc.
Animals in-game are the same as in our reality. They are not anthropomorphized in any way and can't use speech to communicate with one another or anyone else.
Humans are rare in this world and most often found surviving in small groups in the ruins of their civilizations. They live very basic, primal lifestyles and stay in constant fear of being hunted by animal and anthro alike.
